A Handy Dandy Tip
So many discoveries were made purely by accident. Penicillin was found due to sloppy lab work when mold got into a petri dish full of bacteria Fleming was researching. Artificial sweeteners, like aspartame, were only discovered because some scientists forgot to wash their hands and tasted the sweet byproducts of their medical research. Potato chips were created as a joke when a chef decided to cut a potato into paper-thin slices after one of his customers complained of thick fries, and so on. Well, I too have now discovered something incredible by accident.
Skid marks are embarrassing. Sometimes I would be in the bathroom an extra 10 minutes, constantly flushing, hoping the rushing water will erase my evil-doings. It’s unpleasant to leave, and even more unpleasant to discover. I’ve been thinking about this because I recently left a pretty bad one at my friend’s place. It was like my poop had somewhere to go real quick, and peeled out of the toilet. I flushed multiple times to no avail, and in the end, I just had to apologize to the guy. A few days later, I was using the toilet, but this time I threw some toilet paper, beforehand, into the toilet because I needed to wipe the seat. When I was done, I saw that the toilet paper that I threw in before had blanketed the poop, and prevented or minimalized contact with the toilet bowl. Brilliant! I tried this a few more times just to test out this theory, and it worked like a charm each time. No skid marks.
It isn’t practical if you waste TP like this every time you go. It also isn’t an exact science. You’ll lose some battles guaranteed. However, there are those times when you are using someone else’s bathroom where a few extra sheets of TP can go a long way in saving face. Happy pooping!!
One last thing. It won’t work if you crumple up the toilet paper. You want to create a “net” with the TP to “catch” the poop as it falls. Make sure there is a clear line of sight between the TP “net” and the purple starfish. I suggest doubling up if you feel the TP is particularly thin.
