Out of all the new shows this year, I think my favorite has to go to Community. It’s a show about some students at a community college that come together as a study group for a Spanish class, and the adventures that unfold from their relationships. What first drew me to this show was the fact that Joel McHale was starring. I enjoyed him as the host for The Soup, and I would laugh so hard every time he was on Kevin & Bean. The rest of the cast, except Chevy Chase were pretty much unknown. But from the first episode, I already had an emotional attachment to some of the characters, which made me want to keep coming back. The plot lines are pretty fresh, and it’s stinkin’ hilarious. Some highlights:

Ken Jeong
So he came out of nowhere. I first saw him on the Kims Of Comedy, which is the asian version of the Kings Of Comedy, hence the title. Then he started popping up in different films. What I like about him is that he’s finally an asian actor, where he doesn’t come off so…asian. Not that he doesn’t play some roles that require an asian, but just the way he presents himself and his comedy, I feel like we’ve finally made it. Anyway, in Community, he plays the Spanish professor of the class that all the characters are in and goes by Senor Chang. See what I mean?

Abed & Troy
These guys have become my favorite part of the show. Two characters in the show that form a unique friendship, and it’s one of those relationships on TV where I would want to be their third friend. In one episode, they sing Somewhere Out There to their lab rat, appropriately named Feivel, to bring him back home. Yea, that kind of relationship.

The Greendale Human Beings
Greendale is the name of the community college they attend, and their mascot is the “Human Beings”. If you think that’s funny, just wait until you actually see the mascot. Haha.

Starburns
There’s a guy in the show and his name is Starburns because his sideburns are shaped like stars. I just thought that was hilarious when they first introduced him.

You can watch all the episodes now on Hulu.
