This picture just says it all. Just paste a cut-out of me kneeling right next to Martin. What happened? In game 1 we proved we could keep up with the Phillie’s bats, but our pen (Sherrill) let us down. By the way, I’m still not convinced about Sherrill. So what if he put up good numbers in the season? If he can’t cut it under pressure, what good are his efforts to get there. And Broxton…come on! You could’ve had some sweet sweet vengeance! I really wanted to believe that we were capable of winning without the help of Chase Utley. So what happened? Was it our bullpen who threw every other kind of ball rather than solid strikes? Were there too many of us in hitting slumps at the wrong time (Furcal, Blake, Manny)? Did Manny’s premature shower cause some disunity? Too many wasted opportunities (7 LOB)? The weather? I don’t think it’s any of those. You know what I think?

I think it’s this effer.

Phillie Phanatic you big eff. How’d you pull it off? How’d you manage to get in the minds of our players? All smiling and dumb. Is that even a smile? I can’t tell because you don’t even have a proper mouth you dumb green bird thing. It’s just that when I look at him, it’s just not right. In fact, I think Bud Selig needs to ban all mascots. Yea, I said it. Y’all just need to grow up, this is not Sesame Street.

Oh, and I took a look at the Dodgers photo page on Yahoo and…what a slap in the face…

You’re still my boy BLUE!

So a few of us (DK, PScott, Wonsabang) went to game 4 of the NLCS to watch our Dodgers beat the Phillies. It was thrilling, and we were on top UNTIL the 8th… There were a combination of things to point fingers at, but Broxton did it for me. I mean, come on, he’s our closer, and he gives up a HR to the pinch hitter. Yea it happens, but seriously… I don’t know, maybe we’re too young. It doesn’t matter, we’ll just have to take it in 7.

So we lost, and our post game plans at King Taco seems to be a bust at this point. Until DK’s friend, who works at the stadium, gets us into a post game party for media, Dodger alumni, random people, etc. We put on our VIP wrist bands, walk in, and there he is…THE Tommy Lasorda! Just sitting there eating his lobster. After a brief huddle, we gather our balls and decide to go up to him. He was so cool! He stood up right away, and just started talking to us. I wish I had said more, but all that I could force out of my dumb mouth was, “Hi Tommy!”. I shook his hand. I SHOOK HIS HAND. To top it off, there was free food, including Dodger Dogs, and open bar. So although we lost, this sort of made up for it. Honestly though, I would’ve rather had the win. Anyway, God is good, and God loves the Dodgers, so we’ll take it in 7.

Tommy! Looks kind of confused though…

No party tonight…
